The main principle involved in this project is: Organic carbon is oxidized to CO2 by heat of dilution obtained when a known amount of sample is treated with excess of standard K2Cr2O7 in the presence of concentrated H2SO4. Concentrated H2SO4 is important here because of its reaction properties. At the end point, the colour changes depending on the different flowers whose waste is treated.
