Scientists have claimed that living on the moon would be possible by 2030.
Most of us have the desire to experience how it feels like to be on the moon. So, the news is exciting.
The early 2020’s will see a change wherein the astronauts will interact directly with the robots on the lunar surface from orbit. The robots, of course, would land first and then the human astronauts explorers will go. All these activities will lead to a better infrastructure for research and exploration so that there could be the possibility of human stay for prolonged periods. This mission will start in 2020 by the launching of Russian Luna 27 to the South Pole of the moon for the collection of soil samples.
The objective is not only to test the soil but also to provide the scientist with a better understanding of lunar resources and explore the parts that are still unexplored. The distributions of frozen volatiles are hidden in the deep abyss of the moon where no one has been able to go. Their understanding can help in making a good strategy for long term use.
THE NEW ADVENTURE
The scientist believes that the secrets of origin of life on Earth, 3 billion years ago, could be hidden, concealed and well preserved in the unexplored and mysterious areas that is just 3,84,000 kilometres away. Exploring the unexplored, trying to know what has been a mystery for a thousand years or maybe more and finding how to sustain life on the moon, that is the long-term objective as of now. Hopefully, this will be achieved by 2030.
There are chances that the initial settlement would be of six to ten pioneers which would include scientists, technicians and engineers who possibly would grow to become 100 by 2040. This number would possibly grow to maybe thousand by a decade later.
The European Space Agency wants to build colonies on the moon. In order to achieve the goal, it would send astronauts to the moon and back for test purposes. The infrastructure for research is set where the humans will be able to reside for longer times.
The scientists are hoping that they will be able to uncover the truth about how life has originated on Earth and beyond by exploring the hidden areas on the moon.
