Examinations

There is no procedure or direct recruitment to the Post of Police Inspector in India. There are 3 ways to get inducted into Police Force.

The 1st one is through UPSC for IPS Cadre.

Then, 2nd one is through State PSC for direct recruitment to state cadre Police Service like Dy SP or ACP.

The last one or 3rd way is direct recruitment to the Post of Police Sub Inspector. This is by and large in all States, is done through State Public Service Commission exams held periodically.
