21-year-old Jaipur resident, Mayank Pratap Singh, has made history by becoming the youngest Judge of Rajasthan. He cracked the Rajasthan judicial services 2018 exam. Mayank says, "Honesty is the most important criteria to become a good judge."
Mayank studied for 12-13 hours every day to be able to clear and score 169 marks out of 300 in the Rajasthan Judicial Services Main Examination and 28 out of 35 in the interview round to secure the first position.
In 2019, Rajasthan High Court reduced the age criteria to 21 years. Earlier, the original age criteria for appearing in the judicial services exam was 23 years.
Mayank says he was always drawn towards judicial services. He loved the importance and respect reserved for the judges in the society. In 2014, Mayank took admission in the five-year LLB course from the Rajasthan University, which ended this year. Mayank is overwhelmed with his success and he thanks his family, teachers, and all the well-wishes for their contribution, which helped him crack the exam in the first attempt.
Mayank also appreciates and thanks the Rajasthan High Court judgment this year for lowering the age requirement for appearing in the judicial services exam. He says, "I could appear in the exam only because the minimum age was reduced. Had it not been so, then I would not have been eligible. I think it will benefit me because now I will get more time to learn and do more work and serve more people in my career because I joined at such a young age."
We wish Mayank good luck for his future endeavors!
