We all have seen and drawn 2D figures in our school. 2D figures can be drawn on a surface as they have only two axes. But when it comes to 3D figures we cannot draw them on board as the third axis cannot be shown on a flat surface. But now teachers will be able to show their students what 3D figures look like. This is due to the 3 D projection technology model.
This model works on rotation. The thought behind this model is that if we make a 2D object revolve then it can give us the impression of a 3D object. The 2D object won?t be converted into 3D objects in reality but it starts looking like a 3D object. Thus it can be easy for teachers to explain different 3D shapes.
For example, if an object like a right-angled triangle is revolved using this machine it will show us the shape of a cone. Likewise, if a circular object was to be revolved using this machine then it would show us the shape of a sphere.
This is a simple technology that uses 3 components:
A circuit board facilitates the power to be passed on the spinning disc that contains a holder. This holder can then be attached to any 2D object. After switching the button on, the object starts to rotate at a high speed. This adds a third axis to the object giving it a 3D look.
3D printing technology is growing rapidly. It has versatile applications. If you have an eye for precision and detail, then 3D printing could be your field of expertise. To work in this field, you will need to be hands-on with 3D CAD (computer-aided design) in order to plan and design projects.
Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is the first to introduce 3D technology in a formal curriculum.
