The municipalities of urban areas and other populous areas suffer a great deal to take up the waste management of these areas. With the massive population providing an exorbitant amount of garbage every day, it becomes difficult to ascertain where and whose garbage which is, making responsibilities of different areas difficult to demarcate. Hence, societies are often divided on the basis of common bins in the area and these bins will be the responsibility of a particular group of officers who collect the garbage and take it to the treatment plant. However, often times, unauthorized users of the dustbin leave large amounts of garbage, not only toppling the system, but also increasing the burden of responsibility on a particular group of officers in a disproportionate fashion. In order to tackle this, the use of a fingerprint scanner in order to access a dustbin has been incorporated. It uses electric circuits, a scanner and sensors in order to create an automated dustbin that asks you to scan your fingerprint before accessing it, sending information through the mother board and to the display board that will be present in the municipality offices. These fingerprint scanners will not only check the identification of the person, but their authorization and their address. This enables the municipality to keep track of who uses dustbins.
This is an extremely useful invention because it allows the municipality to keep track of the people who use this dustbin. This means that they can not only make sure that no unauthorized personnel use the dustbin, but also would provide when the said garbage was disposed of. This can come to great use especially in cases of criminal investigations as there would be proper evidence to suggest that the incriminating matter was disposed of at what time along with the name and the address of the person that disposed of it. It also allows the municipality the opportunity to assess based on usage at what time the most amount of waste is put in the dustbin and collect in a more efficient manner instead of two set timings a day leading to the garbage to begin to fester and stink in the dustbin. Such a dustbin can also allow for the identification of individuals who may have thrown garbage in a manner that is not appropriate for that manner of disposal and can ask for the person to be held accountable. It thus keeps the society accountable, while also environmentally mindful.
