Importance Of Mobiles in Today?s Generation!

Mobile Phones have become a necessity in today?s world. Every member of a family in a household owns a mobile phone. There is an increase in the usage of mobile phones as we have become heavily dependent on them to complete our day to day tasks. We rely on our phones so much that these phones rarely get through a day with any power left resulting resulted in charging these phones for a longer period. Most often, many of us plug them in for charge at night and fall asleep expecting it to be fully charged and ready to use the next day. This has been proven to be dangerous as of late, news of mobile phones exploding due to overcharging of the batteries have become quite common. These mobile phone explosions can cause loss of limb, disfiguration of the face, and sometimes even death. Therefore, a solution to combat this hazardous characteristic of mobile phone charging is necessary.

The mobile safety charger aims to provide a solution for this problem. This device prevents overcharging of the battery, by disconnecting current to the battery once it is fully charged. This device uses a motherboard and a battery with the application of ohms law, to prevent the flow of current to the battery once it is fully charged. Ohms law states that the electrical current flowing in a circuit is proportional to the voltage and inversely proportional to the resistance. Therefore, if the resistance is increased, the current will decrease provided the voltage of the circuit does not change. Voltage is the difference in charge between two points. Current is the rate at which charge is flowing. Resistance is a material's tendency to resist the flow of charge (current).

The motherboard and the battery provide the necessary resistance and voltage to decrease and stop the flow of current to the mobile phone, once it recognises that it has been fully charged. The device also makes use of an LED, which are considered as non-ohmic devices that burn out when current exceeding the maximum amount of current flows through.

This will ensure that the battery does not overcharge or overheat, thus preventing explosions of mobile phone batteries and making the use of mobile phones safer for every day use.
