Neurons or nerve cells are the cells of nervous system that are responsible for controlling all types of body activities. These are specialized cells which function as messengers for transmitting messages or information from one part to another part of the body. Nerve cells are the functional units of nervous system.

Tissues in the Human Body

Cells are the fundamental unit of life. When a group of cells teams up to perform a specialized function, the group of cells is called a ‘Tissue’. All cells in a tissue are of similar shape and size, working in tandem to accomplish their designated function.
