WHAT IS A SPINAL CORD?

The spinal cord is a long, tube-like fragile structure that runs from the end of the brain stem to the bottom of the spinal column or spine. The spinal cord contains nerves which help in carrying the incoming and outgoing data or messages between the brain and the remaining rest of the body. Spinal cord is the center for the reflexes like the knee jerk reflex.
